Little Ways to Save and Earn

It's no secret by now that I am on a new mission to save money (and maybe even earn a little) anywhere I can.  So, I wanted to share a couple of pretty cool "tricks" with you, in case you want to get in on the action!

The first website I got hooked into is called Swagbucks, and you can connect to that through my referral link here. Swagbucks is a site that allows you to earn points (aka swagbucks) by doing any number of things-- bringing in referrals (I will earn points through any of my referrals who join who also earn points), or even using their search bar, where every so often they reward you with swagbucks while you search.  Then, you can redeem these points for a wide variety of prizes.  Right now, I have $15 worth of Amazon gift cards waiting for me to use them-- on this site, it takes 450 points for a $5 gift card.  I am hoping to keep saving them (yes, you can build them up until you are ready to spend!), and either splurge on a Kindle or a Nook, or something else I really want for myself, but would never spend the money on!

There are several other things you can do if you are interested in racking points up quickly.  A great run down of all your options and the rules can be found on one of my favorite new blogs: Money Saving Mom.  This Money Saving Mom blog is also the one I subscribe to in order to get great shopping tips, coupon match up deals, and lists of freebies and samples.

The second one is fairly new to me, but I keep seeing it in multiple coupon blogs, so I thought I would try it out.  It is called Recycle Bank, and you can sign up for it here.  The gist of this site is pretty simple.  Commit to various activities and strategies to help our earth (like planting a tree or turning the water off as you brush you teeth), and they will give you points as rewards.  Then, cash those points in for high value coupons or other prizes like gift cards!  Along the way, you will also have the chance to enter for various prizes.  The website is clean, and well-organized, and very easy to navigate.  You can find different ways to earn points, by clicking on the earn points button.

Who doesn't like free gift cards?  Especially gift cards that can get you some pretty nice stuff!  Let me know how it goes for you!
